Existence... What Gives?
Existence isn’t random chaos, and it isn’t a rigid script either. In the Pastafarian view, the Flying Spaghetti Monster spun the cosmos into motion and gave us consciousness, curiosity, and the freedom to choose our course. Meaning isn’t preloaded into reality; it’s cooked up through how you live, how you treat others, and what you create. Existence gives you the ingredients. What you make of them is the point.
What is the purpose of life?
Biologically, it is survival and continuation.
Philosophically, it is what you choose to sail toward.
Spiritually, it is growth through learning, loving, creating, and becoming better than you were yesterday.
You have been handed a ship and a stretch of open sea. Purpose is not the ocean but the course you set, the flag you fly, and the kind of captain you choose to be. Life gives you time and agency. Purpose is what you aim them at.
How do I navigate moral dilemmas?
When facing a moral dilemma, look to the Eight “I’d Really Rather You Didn’ts” given by the Flying Spaghetti Monster. They serve as a compass, not a cage. If your decision aligns with their spirit, proceed. If it conflicts, reconsider and adjust your course.
Why is the world imperfect?
The world is imperfect because God is imperfect.
The story of creation is known as Unintelligent Design (UD).
The Flying Spaghetti Monster was three sheets to the wind during creation. The inconsistencies and rough edges of the universe, from minor absurdities such as the platypus to serious hardships like disease & disaster, are part of that imperfect build. They are not hidden mysteries, but the natural result of a cosmos shaped in a moment of divine inebriation. Imperfection is brewed in, and how we respond to it is where responsibility begins.
How old is this religion and how do we know it's true?
Pastafarianism is Earth’s oldest religion.
The original and eternal deity is the Flying Spaghetti Monster. All other gods that appeared later are simply impastas. All it takes to understand that Pastafarianism is true is a dash of faith. However, because faith is a matter of belief not a factual conclusion based on empirical evidence, we admit there's a small possibility that we could be incorrect. Unlike other religions we have the intellectual honesty to think we are correct while acknowledging we might be mistaken. Philosophically, this is called intellectual humility and we are intensely proud of it, wearing it like a colander with 15 pieces of flair.

There are many Pastafarian churches and organizations in the world and we are the official and only church in our denomination known as Pastalorian. Any others claiming to be the official Pastalorian Church are impastas. To emphasize, we are a branch of mainline Pastafarianism.

What's up with the pirate stuff?
Pirates were the original Pastafarians, followers of the FSM, and are God's chosen people. Pirate's were peaceful explorers and when necessary fought for freedom and equality. They were not evil scallywags as often perceived in many history books. As we all know, history is most often written by the winners and Pastafarians have been heavily persecuted for ages.
